Unusual Suspects
[It’s a stretch to call his fellow changelings his “siblings”, but they have in fact grown closer over the past few months. The three of them may well be the last of their kind. With no pecking order and no impending death looming over them, tensions have begun to lessen to an unprecedented degree. They still bicker and bite from time to time, but they’re not going for each other’s throats. At the very least, he can consider them allies. Perhaps friends.
Which is why he’s not going to complain when Nomura sends him on an obnoxious expedition to go pick up some of her favored artwork from a Japanese museum. Well, he can complain a little. There’s nothing easy about trying to navigate unnoticed in his troll form. Even if the abandoned Gyre was able to get him across the world without a hitch, he still had to sit around in a disgusting old sewer for twelve hours. He waited impatiently for the sun to drop and the straggling art aficionados to leave. When enough time had passed that he could hear no more sounds of human traffic above, Walter carefully crept out of his hiding spot and slunk to the side of the museum building. Surrounded by brush, he would likely go unnoticed as he searched for an unlocked opening of some kind.]
